As people grow older and begin living their lives more independently, there is something very special about the times when families are able to come back together. I grew up with the Mathaikutty family as they went to my parent’s home church in Chicago. Over time, life situations sent a handful of the family over to Texas, but it was great to see everyone all together again. With 7 grandchildren added to the bunch (and one on the way at the time of the shoot!), it was great to be able to capture this moment in time for them.
With travel plans to take into account, we were not able to reschedule the shoot due to inclement weather. So instead we tracked the storm as best as we could. We started the shoot with gray/overcast skies and about 20 minutes in, we were caught in a torrential downpour. Took about a minute to escape to the safety of our cars, and after a 10 minute rain delay we were able to dry off in the heat of the sun and finish off the session.
