final teaser: Shaina + Aby (a proposal)
- March 31, 2009 -
I’ve done it again! Another teaser image, as well as another proposal shot! I’ve known both Aby and Shaina for most of my life, and was roommates with Aby during my college years, so it was quite the honor to shoot their proposal and some portraits of them last weekend. Definitely will have more to show later on, but here’s the tease for you!

Alright, I’m all teased out, I think :) Now you can all keep an eye out for a ‘fuller’ post from my recent shoots. Woo hoo!

Teaser #3: Jaimy + Sijin (part I)
- March 30, 2009 -
You guys might remember Jaimy + Sijin from earlier in the year with their New Year’s Eve proposal. We got back together last weekend for part one of a two part e-session, so here’s a quick tease for them as well!

I LOVE TEASERS! Maybe instead of ever posting a full set, I’ll just continue to do some teasers on and off…what do you guys think? ;)
One more shoot from last weekend to tease later in the week…

Bobby & Reeny (teaser)
- March 29, 2009 -
Last Saturday, I kicked off the busy-ness of the shooting season with a bit of a relaxed shoot, since it was my cousin’s engagement ceremony. I’ll get a full post later on, but as people keep shouting at me for teasers from the weekend, I wanted to try to tame the crowds before I get hurt. So here’s a quick one for the ceremony:

There are two more teasers to come from last weekends shoots, so keep an eye out! Looking to get all the teasers up sometime this week.

I’m Back (with a teaser!)
- March 27, 2009 -
I haven’t been this bad about blogging since I first started over on blogger in early 2006. The past couple weeks have been crazy, though, as my Macbook Pro had to be sent in for repair twice because of a failed logic board. Couple that with the busy-ness of planning on my own wedding and shoots starting to pick up for the year means for a very hectic schedule. Even still…no excuse! I apologize and promise to be better.
Last weekend I had 4 shoots so I definitely have a bunch of images to get through now that I’ve got my machine back, but I figured I’d start with a teaser to get everyone back into the mode of checking out the blog and leaving some love! :) And I’m sure everyone wants their own special teaser…but I like the suspense of it all and will only reveal one teaser at a time. So here’s just one from Sunday that nobody should be able to get mad at. It’s my neice’s first birthday party, and she got to have her first taste of cake!

JOIN THE CHALLENGE!
- March 15, 2009 -
Since junior high, I’ve been creating NCAA tourney brackets. And in all these years, I’ve never won a single pool I’ve participated in. So why do I still do it? For the love of the game! The NCAA tournament is one of the most exciting sporting events ever because of the drama and the upsets. If you’ve never been hooked before, definitely fill out a bracket and follow the action- you’ll be checking the scores non-stop, especially during the first weekend.
So as always, I’ve set up an online pool through ESPN.
FOLLOW THIS LINK TO JOIN: NMP Tourney Challenge
To sweeten the deal a bit this year, the winner will get a $10 iTunes Gift Card (plus, I will give you the official title of “Baller of the Year”)! What makes it even more exciting is that you can know absolutely nothing about college basketball and still win the whole thing! (it makes people like me a bit upset, but I’ve gotten over it…every year).
So head on over the ESPN, create an entry, and join the group! First games start this Thursday, so you have a couple days to do your research (if you want to) and get on board!
Some Helpful Hints:
- #1 teams have never lost in the first round (although a #15 has defeated a #2)
- Only once in the history of the tournament (last year) has all four #1 teams made it to the final four.
- There are ALWAYS upsets. The most common are 12 over 5, 10 over 7, and 9 over 8.
- Nobody has ‘officially’ picked the perfect bracket (getting every game correct)…you’re bound to miss a couple.
- It annoys the heck out of sports fans when you choose teams to win based on colors, mascots, locations, and other non-basketball related reasons…but you have the same odds as someone who goes by the numbers ;)
That should give you guys a little added kick in picking your teams. Again, its open to anyone and everyone so spread the word! Only a couple days before the brackets get locked and you’re left out in the cold!

SALT stands for South Asian Leadership Training, and this year they had their second annual conference in Rosemont, IL at the Wyndham. It’s hosted by Cornerstone Fellowship at UIC which is partnered with Campus Crusade, and has the focus of raising up leaders in the Indian community to spread the gospel message on their campuses and in their communities. As I have a few friends on leadership there, it was a blast and a blessing to help serve them again this year in covering the event.

Monday Night Recap?
- March 9, 2009 -
OK, so I feel like it’s been FOREVER since I last posted, and for that I’m truly sorry! Things have been quite busy lately, and it’s going to get even more hectic, but that’s no excuse. Don’t worry, I’ll get back on track with all of this. But while I’m here, I figured I’d give a bit of an update of what’s been going on.
MacBook Pro
One of the main reasons why I’d been MIA: the logic board on my MBP fried. At first I thought it was my hard drive that crashed, and was just going to replace it (lucky for my I backup). Apple looked at it, though, and confirmed it was the logic board that was gone, so they got that replaced for me. Took about a week to get my laptop back- I felt so alone during that time. But it finally came home this past weekend, and I’m good to go! Thanks for your concern.
ABDC
Since I haven’t been doing the MNR anymore, unless you follow me on twitter you didn’t get updated on my following of America’s Best Dance Crew! Much respect to the top teams, but Quest Crew seriously was amazing. There was a heated debate between friends about who deserved to win based on the entire season- Quest Crew or Beat Freaks. My take: Beat Freaks were amazing. They had some great performances, EXCEPT for the last show, where both performances were unimpressive. Quest Crew brought something new each week. Some shows they were outperformed by Beat Freaks, but there wasn’t a single performance where they didn’t show up. Based on creativity and consistency, the best team definitely won.

Cornerstone Fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago held their second annual SALT Conference, and I was blessed to help cover part of the event for them again. Now that I’ve got my laptop back I can start catching up on my editing again, and will get a full post up about soon.

One thing that I have a serious problem with is design: I am never satisfied and constantly try to design and re-design the heck out of things. I’m already thinking of revamping this site again, and I’m surprised I’ve kept it like this for as long as I have. One thing I decide to change up, which was a semi-quick one, was redesigning my twitter home page. I realized that more and more people me check out my tweets who might not actually “know” me or follow my blog like the three of you, so I re-designed it a bit to give a bit more info and ways to connect with me. So go to my page and check it out! (and follow me if you’re on twitter…you’ll definitely get updates much faster than just reading the blog :))
Wedding Website

This was the other big design undertaking that I took. Last fall I built my wedding website, and I was semi-pleased with it, but definitely not satisfied. About 6 months have gone by since it went live, and I felt I needed to completely overhaul it. We wanted to make it more fun for people to come to the site and bring people back more often. And since I’m already a blogging fiend, I think you already how I redesigned it. :) Once again, big ups to Kenny Kim for his e-session pics that are scattered throughout the site. Head over to our new and improved wedding website (http://www.nateandnithya.com/) and let me know what you think! (Don’t forget to sign the guestbook (multiple times if you’d like :)), and if there’s anything you’d like me to blog about over there, let me know!)
NCAA Tournament
It’s that time of the year again! This is one of my favorite sporting events of all time because you seriously do not know what’s going to happen next. My beloved Illinois is definitely in the tourney again, and it’s only a question of what seed they get (looking for a good showing in the Big Ten tourney this week to help them out). all 65 teams will be announced this weekend, and then the fun begins! I’ve set up a pool over on ESPN so you can go and get setup right now, but you’ll only be able to make your bracket after Selection Sunday. I’ll get another post up when it opens up to remind everyone, but head over there right now to create your logins and stuff (and tell your friends too…the more the merrier!).
Group Name: NMP Tourney Challenge
Also, to sweeten the deal a bit, winner of the tourney will get a $10 iTunes gift card! (If I win, I’ll wait patiently for one of you to send me a gift card :)) If that’s not reason to get involved, I don’t know what is! So again, let people know and get ready for the madness we all love, starting this weekend!
Alright, that should hold you guys over for a bit longer, right? ;)
