I’m Married!!!!
- August 15, 2009 -
It’s official! I am officially a married man! The ceremony started today bright and early at 9am, with the reception ending around 3:30pm. Man are we exhausted, but its so great to finally be married :) I obviously don’t have any images from the wedding yet (keep an eye out on Kenny Kim’s blog/facebook for those to come), but for now, here’s the slideshow that one of my groomsman put together for us. Enjoy!
We’ve got a few family obligations to take care of, and then we’re heading off to our honeymoon! See you all when we get back!
*OK, fine. I wrote this post yesterday and set it to publish after the wedding. My fiancee wife would kill me if I even thought about blogging the day of the wedding :)

Rolly + Ben : e-session {evanston, il / glencoe, il}
- August 12, 2009 -
I knew from the first time I met with these two that they were going to be an awesome couple to shoot, and boy did they come through! We did two separate sessions for them in July, one near the Lake in Evanston, IL with a more casual look, and then the second at the Botanic Gardens in Glencoe, IL where they went a bit more formal. Regardless of where we went or what they wore, they were still amazing in every shot.
We got them started in Evanston…

This one makes me laugh every time I see it :)

Are you kidding me? definitely a favorite…

We then went out to the beautiful Botanic Gardens in Glencoe, IL, where the put on some more traditional garb. We had a bit of a scare with some rain early, but it cleared up right when we started walking and led to some gorgeous shots.

Since the shoots were in two different locations, I can have multiple favorites right?! Because this is IT! I’d want to blow this up and put it above my couch, but I don’t think my fiancee would like that to much :)

I seriously just told them to go stand up against this building, and this is what they gave me.

Oh, and we’ve got to finish it off with a little hula fun times from the first session! :)

Rolly and Ben, you guys were AWESOME! I’m looking forward to shooting the wedding after I get back from the honeymoon- it’s gonna be off the hook! :)
***now that I am all caught up with my shoots, I will be officially taking me leave from the photography world until the end of the month for my own wedding/marriage. Thanks for your patience as I will be a little delayed in responding to any inquiries during this time. I’m getting married on Saturday!!!***

Alphy + Sony : wedding {Bellwood, IL}
- August 10, 2009 -
Alphy and Sony were a blast to work with at their engagement and e-session, and it definitely carried through into their wedding day. I’ve been to many, many weddings and this was one of the few so rich with tradition, culture, and connection that made it even greater to be a part.
I started off with Alphy getting ready in the hotel…
My second shooter, Steve Thomas, began the day at Sony’s place. One fun tradition is everyone takes part in helping them put on something for the wedding – I love this grab of everyone fixing his tie!
The father’s first look- such a proud dad.
Before the ceremony, Sony had a moment alone to reflect and prepare…
And Alphy got some last minute help…
I love this look from Sony seeking out his bride!
For the record, these are not their kids :) They got a mustang after the ceremony, and the little ones had a blast jumping in for a bit.
These guys LOVE to dance, and they were ready from the moment they were announced into the reception hall!
I don’t normally post multiple cake shots, but this one keeps grabbing my eye every time i see it
They tore it up for their first dance as well, obviously :) LOVE IT!
A toast- favorite? It’s up there.
Then came the performances! Seriously, they have some really talented friends because all the dances/songs were AWESOME! This little one wasn’t too excited about it, though. ;)
Gotta love the excitement with the bouquet toss!
And then came the dancing, and these guys sure know how to get their dance on!
Very different than most of my other weddings, these guys ended the night by gathering everyone at the center of the dance floor for prayer- such a passionate community.
Sony and Alphy, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your community and take part in this most blessed day! I wish you guys all the best!

Baby Evan : Portraits {teaser}
- August 6, 2009 -
OK, I know I was supposed to put down my camera until after the wedding, but I just HAD to make a stop to take some quick newborn pictures of Baby Evan – only about a week old! More to come when the wedding madness dies down, but for now, enjoy!

[2009.08.03] Monday Night Recap
- August 3, 2009 -
- [Wedding Planning] Yep, that’s pretty much where all my time has gone. I have nothing else to write about, so sorry if you were expecting more :) It’s less than 2 weeks away, though, before I’ll officially be considered a “husband”. Doesn’t that sound crazy?!?!
- [Still Editing] Though I’m done with shooting until after the wedding, I’m still working hard to get past shoots edited and posted. Don’t think I forgot about you all! :) So here’s another tease of the last two shoots that I’ve been working on…they should *hopefully* be hitting the blog soon:
{Alphy + Sony : Wedding}

{Rolly + Ben : E-Session}
