Family is a vital part of life. And although all my first cousins have been in India my whole life, my extended family has been a huge source of community growing up. When I was younger we used to get together all the time, huge family parties for Birthdays, Christmas, and anything else you could think of. As my generation starting getting older, though, we had less time to meet up, and the parties were few and far between.
But now we’re starting to have that ‘next generation’ of kids coming through, and realize the importance of the family. And although I doubted it would happen so quick, within one month we were able to schedule the First Annual Pallikathekathil Family Picnic. And boy was it better than expected.
