photo challenge

Earlier in the year, I created a monthly photo challenge to get people thinking creatively. Many times people feel limited by a lack of direction or more so their own gear. But it’s not about the gear you use, it’s about the vision you have.
At the beginning of each month I’ll post a theme…it could be an object, a concept, a color…something. Throughout the month, it’s up to you to get creative with that theme. Take pictures of everything and anything that reminds you of the theme, and then send it it. Remember, it’s not about your gear. It doesn’t matter if you have the latest dSLR on the market or an old point and shoot. Learn to make amazing images with what you have.
In the menu for the photo challenge, you’ll see each month that we’ve been doing this, and you can find the most recent challenge at the top.  Past months are marked as ‘closed’ (no new submissions will be added), but you can find the previous themes and submissions from everyone.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION

1.  All images must be sent to challenge(at)natemathai(dot)com, with the month/theme in the Subject line.

2.  Image must be submitted as a .jpg file, measuring 600px on the largest size.

3.  Image editing is acceptable unless specifically stated in the challenge description.

4.  Provide your name, website/blog (link), and any descriptive explanation of your images within your e-mail.

5.  By submitting an image, you are declaring that you are the rightful owner of the image (do not steal another person’s work).  You retain the copyright on the image, but are providing nate mathai photography with a release to display the image, with credit.

FINE PRINT

I will not use your images for commercial use (outside of possibly promoting the challenge), but I will seek permission first.  In any instance, I will provide credit to the submitting photographer.  Now that’s some mighty fine print.
