I bought my first dSLR in 2007, and immediately jumped head first into ‘the business’ of wedding and portrait photography. Over the past few years, I’ve continued to work on my skillset, and kept telling myself that one day I would make time for some personal projects. And that time has finally come. ;)
For anyone interested in photography (or any field, for that matter) I would highly recommend working on personal projects. There’s something very special about learning and creating for yourself. You call the shots, you make the deadlines, you are the limiting factor of your creativity. The only person you are needing to impress is yourself. You can try new things without fear of ‘the client’ not being satisfied.

So for my first project, I decided I was going to play a bit with water and light. Here’s the first set of images that I came away with- we’ll see how many more of these I’ll make over time before moving on to my next project. Keep learning.
